I trawled around town today to see what the various financial shops were offering in the way of € for £.
Tried three banks. HSBC were closed. Lloyds wouldn't do it unless you had an account with them. So, not for my journey, obviously. Natwest weren't prepared to better a competitor's rate.
Do these people want to waste time, or make money?
The two travel agents I visited were not only prepared to offer preferential rates if I accepted their bits of plastic, but were even willing to bid against each other.
There you go. 😉
marks & spankers?
Post Office?
Take the bare minimum and get out of the ATMs overseas?
Bank charges for plastic useage.
Cash rools. As ever.
I used this -> http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ earlier in the year and ended up ordering through Thomas Global Exchange (cheapest at the time).
By far the best rate for Thai Baht at the time and they delivered recorded. Saved me about £40 IIRC.
