Did you get blood on the landing carpet? If so worry more about the wife than the needle!
There should be a kit available where you can do this kind of stuff yourself. With simple step by step instructions. [s]Cost[/s] Save the NHS loads in the long run.

And so on. The same should apply to stitches, but probably not staples.
