Starting a new job in Lahndaan Innit next week, so I thought I'd better do a practice run to dial it in on the lovely new Brompton 3-speed. The last part is across town from Waterloo to Docklands mostly south of the river. London traffic at 08:30 in the morning. Ironic Ride Rating - "Interesting". Post-ride Status - "Survived"...

get the nod sorted and you will be ok.

dont ever ever go down the left of a truck, tipper, skip lorry, bin lorry or bus.

Have you used the cycle route planner on tfl.gov.uk?

I'm thinking South Bank to Tower Bridge, cross over and hit the cycle path through St Katherine's Dock. I don't know exactly where you're going, but it may well be doable almost completely off-raod. Which might be nice. 🙂

Not ridden in the smoke before then? I find it kind of like that stuff that Dr Jekyll drinks in the book.

It is. And it's actually quite a nice journey. Peaceful.

Bear in mind, that as soon as you come into Docklands, that you are on MY manor. So watch yourself. 😯

I'm going to taunt him, with my stereo with it's directional cables deliberately round the wrong way...

I rode across Bristol from Abbey Wood to Bedminster the other week. I had forgotton the excitement in riding a bike across a busy city!

there are plenty of quieter routes to use, though sometimes that take a bit of find and/or are not the most direct. there is a good bit out to docklands though thatis of the main highway runs parallel with the DLR for bits

www.tfl.gov.uk also has a cycle route planner

Heh! Innit though, sheep are rubbish. Just wander around going baaah. Get in the way. And cows. Shit everywhere.

Has he done it then, Woppit? I must say, I'm not aware of an outbreak of arguments about Hi-Fi or religion erupting nearby recently...
