Who do you rate for designs and price? I really like Howies, their clothes and what they stand for, but it's a little rich for my wallet.

Replay jeans look good and the cut seems to fit me well.

Matalan, Fruit of the Loom, charity shops, anything cheap.

Dont really see the point in branded clothes, alot of people seem to love advertising a company for free though!

Because I'm worth it!

The more you pay, the smaller a lot of logos get. So I'm not sure you're right there. I have bought cheap clothing in the past but it really doesn't last as long. Cheap stuff loses its shape quicker and is quite obviously... cheap.

Each to their own though, eh?

The relationship between price and quality/longevity of clothes isn't linear though.

It is difficult finding that sweet spot were the two are in balance and it varies year on year even within brands when they redesign clothes and change the place of manufacture.

A major Howies fan - now I know what fits, I have a silly amount of their gear.

Like Finisterre too.

Why are people interested in brands? Because they'll fit better or last longer? The only time I'm even vaguely interested in brands is when it comes to outdoor and cycling gear.

Tiger - for me it's because I know Howies stuff fits well and a lot of it is well styled and lasts ages. They also make good Merino kit.

TBH the actual brand is irrelevant - in fact I make sure any stuff I get from them has almost no sign of Howies on it.

Anything that saves hateful "real life" shopping is good IMO.

Because their shallow? have no personality? like to 'fit in'? etc. etc.

Or just like good quality?

howies gear just looks like old stuff i have in the back of the wardrobe. Expensive and looks very average. Merino t shirt is good though.

Yeahp, I think it must be to fit in and to provide them with identity to a social group. That's why I consider myself a mountain biker, most of my friends are mountain bikers and I predominately wear outdoor brands... oh wait a minute...

Or just like good quality?

Ah!

I like what Howies stand for too... raping cash off people with more money than sense and questionable understanding of environmental issues.

So what does the financially astute, eco warrior buy then?

They often have mega sales - buy during these and the prices are sensible.

How about just liking their stuff? The fit, the quality, etc. Sure they are owned by Timberland, sure they might not be as green as they seem but they do try harder than most and they make stuff no one else makes - like waterproof jeans which are brilliant.
