My fridge broke and I don't want to replace it (long story).
I am thinking of getting a coolbox.
What happens if the temp goes below +16C or above +32C? Will it overheat and catch fire?

It generally just gets much less efficient. Just get the closest match to your expected use.

Thanks, looks like coolboxes are only for occasional use anyway. The absorption ones (which are quiet) are expensive. I'll have to see if I can find a second hand fridge, new ones are too expensive for me at the moment. It's for my caravan, so 3-way and has to fit over the wheel arch so needs to be a specific shape, and needs not to have a compressor to drive the coolant round.
