So the cars in the repair center for 1-3 weeks and my replacement is the Cheverlot Matiz!
I didnt know what this meant at the time, but when i walked outside and saw it the guy said

"Its OK, its the 1.0L SE version"

WELL HURRAH, if its the SE version lets take it for a spin round Nuremburg.

Anyway is anyone lucky enough to own one of these babys and happens to know if you can fit an MTB in the boot?

Not a chance, sorry. Had the misfortune of riding in one and it wouldn't take two flight bags in the boot, so a bike is out of the question.

If you can fit 3 mtbs in the back of a mk1 Punto I think that 1 will go into a Matiz

used to be "Daewoo" Matiz. I assume Daewoo weren't selling too well so they went for a name that rings bells.

Shame Chevrolet didn't do their research in the 70s - couldn't understand why the Chevy Nova wasn't selling too well in Mexico, until somebody who spoke Spanish explained what "no va" means to the marketing department...

Ever wonder why the Vauxhall Nova became an Opel Corsa in eurp?

I remember reading a What Car Big Security Group Test a few years back.

It took less time to break into the Matiz than using the key...

The only reason that Vauxhall still exist is because of Daily Mail readers.

You can get two bikes in the back, or 14 chairs, or a 2kw PA lights and monitors and stands.

One up its like a go cart and sounds like you are doing 100mph all the time. .mine was the 798 cc. Maybe this is why I broke the engine.

The bodywork is made of paper.

I drove my ex's and I can honestly say one of the worst cars Ive ever driven. Unresponsive, sluggish, devoid of all feeling. Such a dreary car it makes Rover owners look like party animals.

No idea if you can fit a bike in it. I wouldnt advise putting more than one bike on a rack on the back. If you do it handles worse as its almost wheelieing!

Took my Matiz to Wales and back for a weekend last year (from Sheffield), two blokes, two bikes, camping equipment, chairs and a 15l can of petrol 'cos the tank's so tiny! Managed fine, good laugh, rear seats fold flat, 796cc, yeah baby!

Could be worse. When my car was in getting fixed a couple of weeks back, they gave me a Toyota Aygo! I managed to completely fill the boot with £20 of food shopping, (3 bags).

I utterly love small cars. Madly. However I couldnt love the Matiz under any condition. Oi Davy, leave the Aygo alone. I drove one to Germany and my GF had to talk sense into me to stop me taking it onto the Ring (car insurer wouldnt provide insurance and couldnt shop around for a specialist intime!)

My brother had a proper crash in a Matiz, 4 adults and 90kph on the clock. No injuries to report despite rearing a truck. They had (the first Matizes at least) a safety cage inbuilt.
I also know of a family friend who drives Matiz between Warsaw and Paris regularly.
