Do they exist or is Eurostar the best option?

Very expensive from Sydney, cheaper from Stuttgart. Sort of depends where you're starting from.

Eurostar is easier for Paris and Brussels. I've flown to both and by the time you take into account the time in the airports and then getting into town from them, you're as well catching the train.

On a couple of occasions in the past I have flown from Northern England into Amsterdam and taken the train from concourse below the airport direct into Brussels or Antwerp. However it's still a pain. I blame the flippin EU because it's all flag carriers and government expense account fares. I would second skyscanner.net as the best place to check fares out.
