I am looking to get a couple of bengal kittens in the coming weeks or months and have been thinking about names for them. The plan, not cast in stone, was to get 2 siblings - a boy and girl and call them Babbage and Ada - or if two boys possibly Babbage and Turing. I can't think of a good 2nd girls name though if needed. Are these names too geeky and if I get 2 girls, what should the 2nd one be called ?

One of the many great things about cats is they don't give a **** what you call them. So just call them Babbage and Ada or whatever, never mind if they're male or female. I used to have a brilliant little mog called Steve, she was bonkers.

We've got three boys, Joey, Archie and Colin. But you can call them Curly, Larry and Mo, they'll only listen if there's a reason to.
Call yours Dick and Liddy.

We, apparently, are getting some chickens when we move into our new house. There will be four of them, apparently.

She's calling two of them Clarissa and Henrietta. I'm determined that the other two will be called Genghis and Fang.

I called my cat Tesla, she would have been called that if she was a boy also. I'm sure there could be Tesla and Edison or something although Edison strikes me as a boy cat name for some reason.

You need a geeky girls name that's not Ada and you can't think of one?

I'll give you a clue - there's only one person ever won Nobel prizes in two different sciences, and it's a woman. She was also the first woman to win a Nobel.

My neighbour's old cat was called Belerophon Catfeatures the Second (there was no Belerophon Catfeatures the First, they just thought it gave him more gravitas). So call it whatever you want I reckon.

Ex's cats (she turned into a cat lady) are Ffffffish, Fatty, Pongo and Flat Eric. Pongo was the dog's name but every time they called him, he ignored it and the cat came running so a name exchange was arranged and now the dog is called Axl Rose.

I have my dog called Louis and we are picking up one of his daughters next week, she's going to be called Elle.

Just a bit of a play on him and her in French.

Sad I know but it was the best I could think of.

My other two cats are Franky and Bennie, don't know where those names came from 😉

A good choice in terms of fame and science, but I was looking more for the British side of the channel.

Fish is a fine looking girl/boy.

I do like Byte and Nibble. 🙂

I ended up back a girl's house once and her cats were called Cat Bastard and Fat Cat Bastard.

Ours are called Fred and Ginger. Both girls. One is really ginger. The other one is fred 😉

Our chickens were named after the spice girls for reasons I can't remember. Until they were eaten during a frenzied fox attack. The replacements don't have names. Chook seems to work for any chicken.

We have a policy of giving them human names (they also have to have a connection with Newcastle Utd). Our 3 are called Bob, Alan and Kevin. If we get another the next name on the list is Malcolm.

Here are Drum and Bass the day they came home with me from a rescue centre.

The names work well because Bass is the black cat and so therefore she is Basement Cat who must be feared.

Not if the inevitable happens before they get neutered, would be spot on then!

Got told a story about someone that had Bengals. They were quite psycho and highly string and could not go to a cattery during holidays, so the owners used to get a housesitter in for them.

One decided that the housesitter's bed was a comfortable, warm and nice place to take a massive, sloppy dump. The poor girl only found out when she got into bed.

Bengals are nasty.

All five live happily together and are now two years old. pippin is 7.5kgs and huge but not overweight as they are the largest domesticated cat.

Merlin is the typical tom cat, lean, mean and naughty......
