So I currently have a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander but it's starting to get a bit long in the tooth with 120'000 miles on the clock. One of features I really like is the split tailgate but the newer versions don't appear to have this feature. Looking at the backs of cars as I drive round seems to show that this feature is rare especially on newer cars where powered doors are all the rage. Range Rovers and the like are out of my price range so I'm hoping for some suggestions of more affordable options that I haven't considered....
Citroen C2!
*slightly bigger cars with a split rear are available.
Peugeot 3008, the wife has had a 1.6hdi one for just over a month now, and I'm surprised how good it is, and the fuel economy is good as well.

I think he's looking for clamshell type, not just the double hinge of the 3/5 series.
Indeed - Clam shell is what I'm after so I can sit on the lower half. Although the second reason is it's easier to open just the upper half with my bike rack folded and so the double hinge works to solve that issue.
