Mrs D28 came home last night in a bit of a flap. Her Engine Management Light & also emmissions warnings light had come on. She re-started the car the the Eng Man light went off but the emmissions one stayed on. She has a long drive to do today on a girly weekend away and has to use the car which appears to be running fine by the way. I was wondering if this may have been caused by having to drive thru' a lot of flooded roads in our area at the moment and in particular a massive "lake" that the council have put traffic lights on which is particularly deep.

Does anyone in the hive have any reassuring words or will she need the AA later on today?

I had engine management light come on in a saxo after going through water bought a code reader/ reset tool from the bay (£15ish)and read lambda sensor fault. reset fault and never seen light again. (saxo didnt have emissions light I suspect EM light came on for that)

My sisters Lupo suffered bad running for years which was corrected eventually by my brother in law cleaning out the Carb with cleaner, it was filthy. Perhaps it could be clogging of a simile kind?

Falkirk guy..that's whatthe emmissions light is for I think a lammda sensor problem...so that sounds promising. So maybe just needs to be re-set.

Jam bo..is that some sort of joke or a real question?

VAG group cars dashboards light up like a xmas tree when the brake pedal switch fails. ironically, it doesn't light up the brake warning light.

I agree with Jambo.. curiously the brake switch affects a lot of electrical stuff on VAG cars. Maybe if it got a bit wet in the floods it could be failing.. its an easy and simple change.
