I have two cars that I need to sell, nothing wrong with them other than they are fairly large 5 seaters and we now need a 7 seater and a smaller, more economical car

Obviously part-ex is going to get me the least money - is it worth getting scratches sorted in advance of trying to part-ex? Is month-end/quarter-end a good time to try and do a deal or does it make no odds?

Would prefer to sell privately but I know it will be a pain

Don't bother spending cash on your part X. I've been given part X quotes by salesmen sat on their arse in the office looking up t'internet. Kind of devalued the FSH and five years of painstaking care I lavished on the car sitting uninspected outside. 👿

Try looking on Ebay for similar cars and watching a few sales - if the cars are popular on there you shouldn't have a problem selling yours for more than you will get on part-ex.

EDIT - but do it soon as no-one will be spending much when it gets close to Christmas and in the new year.
