I'm looking at buying a sat nav for the car, but want to know if there is a suitable product which I can attach to a road bike too. As it is mainly for the road, I don't need OS mapping.

I know this was discussed about a year ago on here, but things may have moved on.

Any ideas?

Thanks very much

you'll hate me saying this, but an iphone 4 with the navfree app will do all of the above, and give you music player telephone and training monitor all rolled into 1 (with other apps)

TomTom do (did?) a specific bike model (for motorbikes). Main difference being that it's weatherproof.

Motorola Defy to do what the iphone does, but is waterproof and cheaper.

There's the iPhone/Android option if you just want to record routes whilst on the bike but waterproofing & battery life are always going to be a problem.

Otherwise, most Garmin GPSs do routing with the right maps installed. They're not quite as good as the dedicated car ones but they've got my to/from places in the past ok.

The Garmin Dakota 20 does turn by turn routing with the inbuilt map
You can install OS maps too if required

I'm surprised TomTom don't do a Garmin 800 equivalent, it's not exactly an amazing product.
