so getting my car wing fixed from a small accident, they've just text me to say the car is being painted and pick up date is next tuesday. Is it really going to take a week for the paint to dry or are they having me on?
I dropped the car off yesterday morning and have a hateful corsa courtesy car so the sooner the better!
bloke I worked with's car was in for body work.
it went past him at over a 100mph on the M4 one morning.
he phoned to ask when it would be ready.
"The paint's curing, mate"
"Does it dry better at over a ton on the M4?"
"You can pick it up this afternoon"
If the dent is near the door. Colour will need blending. So add time to strip ,fit door and wing.
It's a skilled job done by artisans and can't be rushed.
wwaswas 😆
its a new wing, bumper and alloy job...its being done in swindon, im not sure we have any of those artisans you speak of 🙂

Urban myth... 😀
2k paint will be dry in a couple hours.
paint will not be cured and fully hard for about a month - im sure nealglover will be along to tell us.
freshly painted panels - ie same day. mark exceedingly easy during reassembly if your not super bloody careful.
they are probably saying a week so that your lovely shiny new paint job isnt soft as shit and gets all marked up in the first day and they have to redo it as your not happy and are saying their works shit.
ah i see - will persevere with the stupid corsa 😡
Urban myth...
it happened, honest, I was in the room when he made the call 🙂
(of course it might be an urban myth as well...)
