Hey all,

Another problem to put to you all 😆

My insurance is up for renewal, having been a named driver on my dads policy with a protection fee that I pay against his no claims. I'm trying to get quotes now with the same inputs as last time, but all the insurance quotes are double! Any idea why?

Some details - I'm coming up to 21, the car is a pre 2000 106 1.1 litre, with no claims, same address etc.

Driving me mad! (scuse the pun)

My renewal was 30% higher than last year even though I had an extra years no claims and no other details had changed 🙁

In a recession people make more/higher claims - so insurers put premiums up to compensate.

They are also making less on the reserves they have invested, so again premiums go up to fill the gap in Profits.

So insurance being £600 more than 12 months before is acceptable? Bolleaux.

If this is the same accross the UK, insurance companies must be taking £billions.

Cheers guys, rang Zurich and they will be wanting £200 more, due to inflation.

Not tried Confused yet so will give them a go.

Swift Cover won't touch me with a barge pole..

I always used to get the yellow pages and ring lots of companies, a bit old fashioned but worked for me.

Whey, all is well. Confused.com have quoted me with 12months cover at £60 less than I'm paying now, with the AA, also includes breakdown cover throughout the policy period.

SHABBA. Bye Bye Zurich. 😀
