Right - Need a new car and could do with some advice.
Criteria -
Budget - £2000 - £2500
Its a family car so must be safe
Needs to be reasonably cheap to maintain and frugal
Needs to be an estate big enough to sleep 2 for occasional dossing (I'm 6'3")
Thinking Mondeo or Passat just now. Other suggestions needed.
All input gratefully received!

skoda octavia is the standard answer on here. I've got two friends with passat estates that they are very happy with. They are huge inside.

T5. With extra seats. Possibly T4 on that budget.

If you want safe but stylish, I'd say Saab 9-5 Diesel estate.
