We will be in touch
My wife's Canon 24-105 lens developed an error 01 "Check contacts" while we were on holiday last week, which was a pain as it's her main lens. I've not done much photography since the days of film, manual lenses and light meters, but I'm hoping the brains of STW can help.
A bit of web searching suggests that this is most likely a ribbon cable wearing out so we want to send it somewhere competent. Has anyone a recommendation for a repair service? We're at the edge of the Highlands, so don't expect anything local and we're prepared to post it.
Any Canon repair centre qualified to work on EF lenses should be able to do the job:

I've previously sent off to a place in Edinburgh and also a centre in Elstree, London; both did the job well (one was a clean and repair and one was a mirror broken in a 5D). Not sure of cost for a ribbon repair but probably worth it on a 24-105.
