I need to get a spare battery for my Ixus 230, I've been on eBay and the ones on there are all 1000+Mah the one in the camera is 700something.
I wasn't sure what the difference was, so thought the best thing to do was consult the Singletrack camera experts?

As long as it fits physically it will be alright, the camera will only draw the power it needs, so giving you a longer lifespan.
I have the ixus 80 and bought a spare duracell battery from amazon works a treat.

I'd be wary of 'too good to be true' cheap batteries from far Eastern sellers on eBay, personally. Far too easy to wreck an expensive device.
