We will be in touch
since i now have 2 consoles (360 and ps3),i have used a multi scart connector to run them to my old tube television (remember those) scart socket to save me having to unplug one console scart socket to play the other.
can now play both without swapping leads, but there isn't any sound any more from tv. the strange thing is though i can get sound through my 360 turtle beach headset though (when playing either console).
any idea what is going on (or what i'm doing wrong)?
thanks 🙂
Wiggle it whilst sound is up - you'll probably hear sound come on & off, as it sounds a bit typical of not all pins sitting in back of TV.
Check all the pins are pointing the same diection (i.e so they are all sitting in their little place when you shove it into TV)
Check that scart isn't falling out of TV (some of them are a bit weighty and pull themselves out).
Also check it *has* all the pins. Cheap scart blocks always used to be notoriously s**t.
Edited 'cos I did a swear and though the filter would blank it.
Does the TV not have component in? If so, just use the XBox with that instead of the adapter to Scart (or at least that's why my old 360 had).
First thing I'd be doing is chopping and changing the cables and switch box about to try and isolate the issue.
Is your TV on mute, have you tried turning the volume up? (-:
is it an active SCART switch box? or just Y cable?
i'd buy 2 HDMI cables (about a tenner), and a cheap 1080p LCD TV (should be a bargain now that 4K is all the rage).
thanks for the replies everyone.
the scart multi adaptor is one of those cheap fiver market types (has 5 sockets in a line)then the connector socket to plug into the tv.
i did try and wiggle it around (so to speak 😉 and check it wa all plugged in e.t.c, but i just cannot fix the problem unfortunately.
will just resort to manually changing them over when playing either console (it's not a problem tbh, just am lazy 🙂
thanks again 🙂
And they work through the individual scarts without the adapter? Funnily enough, I just connected my ps3 to speakers via the phono/scart cable, needed to change the audio settings (was hdmi only).
