A process by which women get naked... which is all good for me!

couldn't tell you why though!

"It is one of many highly ritualised descriptions of sexuality, in which archaic references from previous ideas about sexual behaviour are used as a deliberate counterpoint to the extemely literal descriptions of it which dominate the mainstream cultural prism through which human sexuality is viewed."

I'm unclear whether this wants a smiley. 🙂

I have some friends who are active in the scene in london, they love it, i love that they love it. I think that she likes the glamour (and there's loads of glamour) and also the exhibitionism of it. Her male partner must also like this aspect of it.
If you get the chance to go to an event defo go, its an eye opener though normally to be accepted in the scene you do not get naked. just nearly

It's cr&p.

You wait patiently for some bird to get her kit off but she always stops at the nipple tassels .

It's like soft porn / strip clubs, but for posh people who don't want to admit they'd do anything so vulgar isn't it?

At least having been to Lost Vagueness burlesque shows*, that's basically what it appears to be. Embarrassing in the same way as when people try to take you to strip clubs.

But having said that, fair enough if people want to go, and to be fair to them, some of them do have quite high production values, good singing and whatever, but when it comes down to it, it's just glorified stripping, why bother pretending it is anything much more?

Joe

*it was work so I had to be there.

Went to one in Leeds a few weeks back. It wasn't a bad night out, not that I saw much of the kit removal bit, waaay too many people there 😉 Some of the crowd were rather nice though... and the lassies wandering about between their shows were also easy on the eye.

But mostly I just drank all the rum.

But surely, burly = hefty, gnarly, rad etc.

ergo, "Check out the burl-esque gap jump".

At Glasto, Lost Vagueness was quite entertaining when it was small-scale... not so entertaining when it took over what seemed like half the festival...

Maybe it's like what they say about Harley's...'If I had to explain, you wouldn't understand anyway'.
