preferably with scanner and copier built in, for A4.

would like ink to be cheap too.

Not bothered about photo quality stuff but must be reasonably fast. to be used for fairly light home / office use. A3 is only an occasional requirement.

If larger printing will only be occasional, then why not just get stuff done at a local high-st printing place? Only a couple of quid a pop usually.

A3 printers ime are spensive and aimed at higher-end use such as photographic printing.

Good advice above, I looked at a s/hand Canon Pixma 9000 mkII A3 printer last week, very good price and hardly used

Not so good when I found out a full set of Ink would cost £80, add that to the price of the printer plus paper and that's an awful lot you could spend at a printing shop

Also need an awful lot of room for it, weighed about 15kg too, unless you really need one much better to get the prints done elsewhere

I've got a very cheap HP inkjet. Was £10 from ebay and another £8 for a colour cartridge. I've got an A4 laser for general use and only use the A3 occasionally. Quality is pretty poor, but fine for my needs. If I need a good print then I use the local printing shop.

Ebay is a good option. Plenty of A3 printers on there, sold on when the owners realise that running them costs a fortune...

In fact, it's where mine might end up tbh. Sits there doing bugger all most of the time, when it is pressed into service it drinks ink like there's no tomorow, whilst my 11 year old A4 HP still chugs along very economically.
