Looking to meet a friend this weekend for a two hour walk followed by a nice lunch somewhere - preferably north Dartmoor, so we can meet A30ish, rather than south.

I'm more of a South Dartmoor/A38 bod and don't really know the northern bits but check this brilliant website for a walk on the North moor and maybe do a spot of googling for a pub that fits one of the walks....

Okehampton North around Abbeyford woods, SW on the Two castles trail for a lap of Meldon res. or to Yes Tor.
Belstone up on to the moor on paths or army tracks.
There are also some nice pubs not far off the Granite way around Sourton.
