Lots of free PDF software out there, you don't need acrobat. I use cutePDF

I doubt I can break it with the pdf converters and am hoping to be quick.

What do you mean by split in half? Do you have say a 20 page doc and want to make 2x10 (or whatever) page docs out of it?

You shouldn't need to do it from scratch. Just open it with acrobat reader then print it as a PDF using cutePDF, just select the page range you want.

Wot nickjb said with CutePDF. You're printing a range of pages from a PDF (or any other doc) to a PDF. I use it all the time to send doc fragments to punters who are too lazy to use Acrobat search tools to find what they need in a 400 page doc. I STILL insist they Read-Part-Of-The-F^$ing-Manual.
