Thinking maybe taking the campervan to Holland (Harwich to Hook of Holland) so is there enough to do with two boys and a wife for 2 weeks ?
Don't want everyday to be long distance drives
Amsterdam one day (been plenty of times)
So has anyone done this advice etc go to Germany ?
Drive from Holland and go back via Calais ?
Many thanks in advance out for the eve
Bump!
Been driving to Netherlands for 15 years as wife is a cloggy. We live in SE and always go Dover-Dunkirk of use the tunnel. Its quick, cheap, easy to rearrange and the drive is 3-4 hrs on the other side depending on traffic and where we are ending up.
Netherlands is perfect for camping with loads of high quality sites but they are expensive. Many 'bungalow parks' which are similar to centre parcs have sites attached and you can use the pools etc.
The place is a family paradise with loads to do - best family cycling I've ever seen but other highlights for me have been:
Veluwe national park - cycling, walking, nature spotting plus brilliant Go-Ape stuff
Sailing in Zeeland (hire Valks, 21ft dinghy really easy to sail)
Mountainbiking in Limburg (yes Netherland has some excellent mtbing)
Texel and the other islands off North coast - wild and sandy with amazing beaches
Too many other things to mention but you won't be bored.
It will rain though.
Thanks for info
at the moment can book a ferry from Harwich (we are an hour away) first two weeks of August for £210 return and that's with a campervan !
Tell me more winston ...
