Due to a last minute change of plan by my pal, my bikepacking trip along Hadrian's Wall is now being replaced by a trip to Kielder forest to do some cycling and kayaking etc.

Is there anywhere to park up a couple of campervans for the evening? A secluded forest car park or something would be ideal, but I have no idea if that is possible. The two campsites in the forest are fully booked...

The top car park at the trail head was free for campers, don't know if it's still the case. Otherwise Hell's hole us not to far.

There is overnight camping allowed at the MTB Trailhead carpark in the village.

There were a couple of campers there this weekend.

Costs £10 per night on the pay and display.

Ok, have also seen quite a few of the car parks around the loch have £10 parking too.

Didn't realise the extent of the MTB trails either, will take the full sus and the headtorches!

If you're doing a ride after dark I'd recommend the Lonesome Pine trail as it goes right past the Nightspace Observatory. Would imagine it's a pretty spectacular rest stop on a clear night. There's some decent northshore up there too.

You could park at Anglers Arms car park for free overnight if you used the pub.
