Hello
As my garage is under virtually nightly attack by someone to get to my bikes, I'd like to upgrade the alarm.
I have door switches and PIRs, but is there such a thing as a 'noise' sensor. I could put a vibration sensor on the up-and-over door, but the cable routing would be a phenomenal ball-ache.
Rather than detecting they're already in, I'd like to unleash the fury as they're trying...
Cheers

If it's under nightly attack, rig up several thousand watts of strobe lighting, a HUUUUUUGE siren, and then keep a discreet eye out of a convenient window for the little bastards with your finger on the alarm's panic button.

Personally, I'm a fan of MicArms's idea, but you might have some difficulty explaining the shotgun blasts to the fuzz.

Or if you have a very good defence lawyer or deep well to dispose of what's left...

There are paint ball versions of this, but I can't get onto the sites from work.

YES!! You want one of these: http://www.klaxonsignals.com/productDetails.asp?productID=53&categoryID=50

Makes a 'right bloody row' (tm) two of them would be mental, but at over £250 a time they're not exactly cheap. How about an electric fence? crushed glass/tar?

Is the attempt to get in through a window/door? wire mesh on the window? razor-wire? (not really appropriate if you've got animals/children i'd have thought though)

Strobe lighting works incredibly well by all account, quite the disorienting effect. I would say couple it with a siren, but you never know whether dodgy ravers will break in on purpose.

Hope you get it sorted out bud.
