We will be in touch
Hi. Planning on buying our first house. The mortgage survey said signs of landslip which caused concern. After posting on here and speaking to people in seems understandable for a hundred year old end terrace. Our mortgage adviser spoke to the building society and they say they are not concerned.
My issue building and contents without box ticked for landslip equals 20quid with equals 60 quid! ouch ! Not sure there is anything we can do?
Up to you. Mortgage company's will protect thier investment so if they are not concerned after their survey, thats normally a good thing.
On the other hand, if your house collapses you'll have nowhere to live and will still have to repay the mortgage.
Up to you really.
If you dont tick it and there is noted sign of landslip in a document - and your house falls down yer ****ed
You'll void your policy if they find out, for any claim.
£120 to protect a few hundred thousand quid seems sensible.
£40 to protect nothing seems a bit pointless.
Do it properly or dont bother at all (you can save all the £40's for a hotel room if your house burns down)
You could always pay for a proper survey which is likely to be more thorough (not so lazy) and may look into the landslip issue further and note that it's no issue.
