Can anyone recommend a reasonable lightweight waterproof jacket for summer use. Nothing too pricey, just something for emergency use in summer. Use will be commuting on the bike (if I ever get back to the office) and general wear/dog walking etc. Not hill walking or 'proper' biking. Ideally not really baggy either as I'm not intending to layer up with it. Happy with budget brands (e.g. Decathlon etc.) if it does the job. Replacing a Mammut PreCip that is no longer waterproof (despite reproofing) is far too big/flappy. I'd stretch the budget to Goretex/eVent etc. if needed, but my experience of them is they don't stay waterproof either (despite following manufacturer instructions on reproofing).
Thanks in advance

Give us a maximum budget to work with; some people’s definition of pricey is another’s cheap…

FWIW I just bought an Outdoor Research Helium jacket for basically the same use. Not sure if that’d be too pricey for you though.

I recently bought a mountain equipment zeno as a summer waterproof. Light, waterproof and not very expensive.

My emergency summer rain jacket on the bike is a Rapha Rain Jacket II at £100.

Admittedly running orientated but something like this might be an option to consider.

Middle_oab has a Madison Stellar - £44 in a sale and it is a stunningly good jacket, waterproof, pit zips, bright colour without being lumi yellow, couple of nice details in hem (fold down and magnet), cuffs (cut asymmetrically) and collar (higher at back than front).

I have a Madison Stellar too (also in red) out of a bargain bin for about £45. It's really good and I'm going to hunt another one down to stick on the box when I kill this (it gets hammered with mud and backpack).

Budget - thinking £40-£70. But would go higher (maybe £120). Ideally I don't want a biking jacket as I'd like something with a hood.
