What are the essential albums to buy please?
Without doubt very close to genius status, I saw his series of video paintings called 'Thursday Afternoon' at the Stedelijk when I was an art studio in the 80s, the cityscape sequence is amazing. I found this version but it's the wrong orientation, see, he was even using innovative ways of using screen ratio and space.
Ambient 4 and Evening Star with Robert Fripp are personal faves.
