Holland bringing on a sub keeper to help win a shoot out may have seemed like a master stroke at the time, however if you cannot do that the next time you have a shoot out, it gives a psychological advantage to the opposition. The Dutch keeper did not look like saving one, and Holland did not look like winning it.

I wanted to see Brazil v Holland but neither performed. I was more disappointed in the Dutch performance than Brazil. Holland reverted to the withdrawn mentality which lost the last final.
