Sadly Audi now cater for the pond life and the wannabee's.

Th wannabee's nectar, not as sweet as you'd think and leaves a peculiarly fishy aftertaste

BMW - unfortunately they still rank just below Mercs & White Vans on my commute

Some people might argue that people who don't like AUDI or BMW are just sore that they can't afford one and are stuck in a Passat or whatever, and would secretly jump at the chance, if offered, to own one of these brands.....

It's the default car brand for people who care more about their own self image than what they actually drive. A default brand for those who want a flash motor, but who actually know very little about cars or driving.

The Man U of the car world?

Oh don't get me wrong I don't like AUDIs, talk about style over substance. The ultimate tosser's car maybe. BMW make mostly great cars though.

Hope: nasty looking. Overly hyped and under-performing. Still like their hubs mind...

Not saying they're cheap or naff. Just not for me.

My current BMW is pretty reliable, quick and cheap to run.
Vodafone coverage is better than I get with Orange at the moment so I am going back.
Sky - nowt wrong with them! Good service in my opinion.

Capitalist pig. 😉

On-One/Ragley cos Brant was very arrogant, condescending and rude to me on here once simply cos I expressed my onion that something he'd done weren't all that aesthetically pleasing.

Actually I might buy something off On-One's website now he's left, but I'd never buy anything he's 'designed' or had a hand in.

I imagine he's absolutely devastated at the loss of my custom. 😐

Coca cola , Starbucks and maccys as standard

Also, any sort of lifestyle brand like howies, fox, Calvin Klein, abercrombie and fitch, Rapha etc. All are absolutely cringe worthy.

BMW, Audi and Volkswagen - probably considered cool cars if you're middle aged and work in marketing

"lifestyle" brand? bollocks. I purchased fox gloves and helmet, not a fox "lifestyle". I'd imagine that would have been more expensive.
This thread is nothing to do with "cool", when you get older you'll realise things that just work are more desirable than fluo paint jobs and spinny rims.

Audi - Why? I've always lusted after a 1990 ur-quattro but otherwise it's a posh Volkswagen with spares and service at an absolute premium. Their stand at the 1998 motor show was by invite only, in contrast to Alfa Romeo who seemed positively chuffed to have us oiks rock up and coo over their cars.

McDonalds - I've gone a whole decade without eating one and don't intend to start soon.

Disney - Just because.

Superstar - I hate the logo. Hate it.

Giant - Because of their new headset "standard".

Any company that uses the word "Colourway" in their literature.

K2 Skis - Soooooo ugly!

Really... I have a pair of these sat in my garage, that says otherwise

[img] [/img]

If you'd have said "fat skiis - soo ugly" I might have agreed 😉

Although I must accept the ease of use of my newer K2s
[img] [/img]

BUT - in terms of turning ability, I still reckon the old K2 Extremes would easily out-turn the Crossfires (I know, based on SL ski rather than GS type piste ski...)

I'll try to avoid, to the best of my ability the following

News Int products - avoided them before the recent phone hacking scandal.

Iceland Supermarket - Encourages a poor diet and cos of that silly bint that they used for advertising.

The Barley Mow, Tilford - OK, not a brand but rude landlord.

Any shop selling casual sports clothing - especially if the clothing is shiny.

I struggle to understand why anyone would shun a product cos of their perceived view of the customers of the product in question (Audi, BMW etc).

Jeep - never again
Ford Main Dealer in sussex (a small forest of one type of tree) - thought they could rip off my missus.
Comet - customer service does not seem to feature in their ethos

Easton for the shocking bearing life in the first generation of Haven wheels and then poor, argumentative warranty back up.

KFC - not really a boycott, just don't eat there because it's sh1t

^^that too. On the 1 occasion I tried their "food", it decided it wanted to come back out again. At least I had the decency to wait 30mins till I got home. My colleague just got up walked outside and chundered all down the window, causing the other clientele to decide they were no longer hungry either.

Oh and K2 skis ftw.

Lots i wouldn't buy but none i really find offensive other than the daily mail.

Nespresso amuse me, though I suppose that's Nestle. Have you seen their "lifestyle" mag? Terminally sad. And have you visited one of their stores where you need to have a lifestyle consultation so they can decide which little plastic pot of coffee is suitable for you? Comedy stuff.

And if you think being a Vodafone customer is bad then you should try being one of their suppliers!

cotic, on-one, ragley, commencal, x-lite, manitou
any brand worn by northern middle aged men that has big logos or funny superfluous pocket arrangements. superdry: a brand created out of nothing that means nothing with no heritage, it's the reverse of 'ingrish' japanese clothing with meaningless slogans.
supreme, bathing ape and all those other wan*3r brands.

superdry

When it first came out I actually thought it was Japanese clothing 'over here' partly due to how badly cut/sizing etc it is.

Another. Orange. Sorry, I really don't think a single pivot bike with no UK Importer or duties to pay should cost £1,500.

Apple. I can't really explain why, except that I had an iPod back in the day (up to 2004), then moved on to better MP3 players. And now they're not just ubiquitous, they're some kind of awful club, and I wouldn't go near them. Plus the stuff they get away with (the dreadful bloatware of itunes, some unreconstructed approaches to apps and the like) because they're a 'nice' brand really bugs me.

They used to be a 'nice' brand.

That started changing probably about 2003 onwards as well for me.

I had 4 ipods in a row and they stated the batter failure was 'my fault' until I found out it was a faulty batch of batteries from China.

One brand I havent seen mentioned - who I totally hate, SONY.
Every single thing i've ever had from SONY has been an utter bag of shit (including the laptop im using right now)
If i had the money to buy another laptop (of another brand), i'd piss on this one and set it on fire.

Total shit.

Erm, I quite like Superdry stuff, the two jackets I have are nice. Logo's are a bit played out now but its still good stuff.

I also like Audi's, mine was fantastic before it was stolen (RS4) and the S3 was a nice motor too. I also had a Beemer and bar the runflats it was a much nicer place to be than the mondeo they gave me when I crashed it.

I've also got an Orange 5 which is the only bike I've ever sat on which felt spot on immediately, can't see the problem there. It's got hope wheels which are lovely but I wouldn't touch their brakes if only because I've never got on with them.

Maybe I'm a sheep unlike the elite stylemongers on here but they've all suited my needs in the past.

I wanted to do that yesterday, but I wasn't attended by a suitable small child, so I wasn't allowed to. 🙁

Seemed most unfair. I was deprived that which others enjoyed, just because I am old and childless. 😥

Besides, most of the paddling pools have bin closed down. Health and Safety, innit?

I don't like lots of brands.

Canon - because it's for girls.
Dell - It's for cheapskate nerds
OnOne - Don't know what it is but it sounds knaff, probably for the brothers of the above.
Osprey - Because it's a bird and a knaff boat
Microsoft - Just Because it exists
Skoda - Because ugly people drive it.
Starboard - Because Ginger people windsurf on it.
Pride - Because they make Mobility Scooters
Pryde - Because they should make mobility scooters
Kawasaki - they're too green and driven by nobs
Patels - Because they called me a mincer (Our corner shop)
Specialised - Because it sounds like it should be for something else
Trek - Because everyone rides it and they wear lycra with a stupid shop name on it.
Fatwaist - Because I haven't
MacDonalds - Because they kill children
Benson & Hedges - Because they kill grown ups
Stella - Because people who drink it beat up their wives and anyone found with them.
Shell - Because they make too much money as do HSBC,Barclays, and pretty much every brand of bank
Goldman Sachs - because of that dick that was on here the other day.

This could go on a lot further but I'm getting bored with it now..

I have one word, and that word is Bonio.

It may just be me, but I find being preached to about world poverty by a hypocritical, pompous, self important, tax dodging multimillionaire in a ludicrous cowboy hat brings out the irrational hatred quite nicely.

Mont Blanc pens.

I love using decent pens, but there's nothing that screams look at me more than a bloke (always male) with that little white star (inevitably on a ballpoint, not even a fountain pen)waving around as he tries to think he's important in a meeting.

Tesco - too powerful, screw locals and suppliers.
Asda = favour imports, screw locals
anything Israeli - obviously. the real terror state
Volvo - a bit irrational but so what.
Nike - sweat shops, too American, omnipresent.

Generally I favour British, local, independent, non air freighted etc

Hmmmm. People seem to want an explanation of my entry of Hope. So here goes:-

Hubs. They make a nice noise but are from cheap metals. I've had flanges (I do like that word) crack and deform. Axles bend. Freehubs deform.

I don't get these issues (at least as often) with other brands.

Headsets. They're expensive compared to a lot of competition and not any better.

Seat clamps. I'm heavy. Their clamps are seemingly not up to the job of keeping my seatpost in place.

Brakes. They fade like no others. Shimano XT are cheaper and better. Hayes are cheaper and just as good. I've had them repeatedly leak and the fittings deform when adjusted (and I'm quite delicate with spanners). Used to spend all my life fixing or bleeding the useless crap - haven't used them for years now and have finally realised that hydraulic brakes can be fit n forget.

Perhaps if they stopped making things from cheese they'd be better.

Just because Hope charge a lot for their products does not mean they're not cheap and nasty.

To counter that, my X2s, while they're noticeably less powerful than the Avids they replaced, have been fit & forget. The Avids needed bleeding on a fortnightly basis (the LBS reckons I was by no means alone in this) and howled whenever I braked.
