My brakes have just started to sound like a class of 6 yr olds learning the trumpet when braking hard (slx discs). Never done it before
What causes this and how can I fix it?

If it's only just started to do this - check that your pads haven't worn out.
What causes it? A change of mass (pads wearing out), heat (only happens after a little while riding), water/mud (same as heat), disc mounting bolts coming loose (check they're tight) etc...
