Just seen a reference to a Bowie lyric on another thread and realised that in all the music threads there is very little mention of the musical genious that is Sir David of Bowie!!

What's your favourite Bowie track?

Up there has to be Wild is the Wind.
Suffragette City was heard last week, which is excellent.
Perhaps too many to mention.

My overall favourite has to be....

Width of a Circle.

Let's see who the Bowie fans are.

Wild is the wind was pretty good and on a lighter note the covers on the movie The life Aquatic sung in Portugese.

My top three most played:
Heroes
Always Crashing in the Same Car
Under Pressure

I think Under Pressure is in there on a technicality but it's great for a bit of prancing.

Good call with Tin Machine, a lot of people slated the first album at the time, but I liked it. I saw it as Bowie being Bowie and creative rather than responding to record company wishes and the Let's Dance stuff. 😆 But everything has its place.

There are so many great Bowie Tracks, I could list a lot more...

Well duh! 😉

I've had the fortune to see him three times, 83 in Milton Keynes Bowl, 93 Main Road and possibly 95/96 Manchester arena. 😀 Not old enough to have seen Ziggy. 😥

Lady Grinning Soul is my favourite song by anyone!

Lordy, I love Bowie.

This month I also like 'Art Decade', 'The Bewlay Brothers' and 'Bring Me The Disco King'.

My 4 & 6 year old children like 'Magic Dance' of course...

Bowie live at Live Aid was quite special at the time though, might be a bit cheesy now!!

Moss Garden/Neukoln/Sense of doubt ("Heroes" CD).

Sounds fantastic on the Hifi, even with the cables the wrong way round.

My fave artist of all time... really couldn't pick a single fave track.

One of the things I like about him is that in the middle of a load of self-indulgent rubbish (eg. "Outside") there'll be an absolute gem (eg. "Heart's Filthy Lesson")

Pretentious toss apart from some of the Mick Ronson collaborations and Jean Genie, which was only any good cos he nicked a Bo diddley riff.

That's just my opinion obviously anybody who disagrees is entitled to. 🙂

Some really awesome stuff in here chaps, obviously, thanks.

Going through Youtube and found another forgotten gem. Crack City. I think that as far as mad drummers go Hunt Sales must be up there, one of the coolest tattoos I've seen, it says it all really.

Hard to pick just one but if I had to it would be something earlyish with Mick Ronson's guitar in there somewhere.

Not an afficionado but reading the above makes me realise the man is a class act.

For me - Heroes.

Unless cover versions of Bowie songs are allowed, in which case Bauhaus / Ziggy Stardust.

Of course covers are allowed, if they introduce you to the great man and you like.

Heroes is my favourite track from anyone
also:
Young Americans
Kooks
Modern Love
Man who sold the world
Sound and Vision

IMO Bowie is one of the few living legends in music, most of musical legends have died early or like McCartney or Jagger have become shadows / caricatures of the former selves.
