the boos (!)

You know the scene in Blackadder where the Prince Regent tells Blackadder how much he's loved by the public and says "why, only the other day I was out and the public were cheering "we hail Prince George, we hail Prince George!"
Blackadder: "we HATE Prince George..."
Prince: "really?!"

In very much the same manner, Boris will imagine those are cheers.

BOO-ris, BOO-ris... 😉

Being booed by a load of royalists isn't a good look for a Tory prime minister is it?

Probably not a good look for any of us.

They're hardly likely to look to the left of him for an alternative.

I saw that he was given a reading from Philippians.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Boris being booed by a crowd of who you would think to be the Tory Core vote, then trolled by the Church of England?

That’s surely got to take the number of letters over the threshold

To be fair he just read words that people wanted him to say just like everything else that comes out his mouth he doesn't need to mean it he just says what folk want to hear whether there is a shred of truth or not.

give him credit he's picked the most splineless brainless gormless cabinet in history and the rest of party as a whole are the most shambolic we're are going to end up having a autumn election at this rate.

no chance, not with out a minister wielding the knife. Brexit is a cult and Johnson is their Charles Manson, David Koresh, Jim Jones, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh.

Maybe not a VONC but Carrie might be out of there sharpish at this rate.
Won't be doing her stock any good being attached to that...

They've won twice telling lies to idiots and brazening it out. There will not be a VONC new week or anytime soon. Johnson will lead the Tories into the next election and they'll still win. Maybe with a reduced majority.

Even if he does go, all of the bad stuff is about Johnson personally, not the Tories as a whole, so while he might be gone the party won't be.

Nah, this is personal……. left or right doesn’t come into it.

This is the same bloke that they put their trust in that Brexit was the one true path. He got them all moist for red, white and blue. Well, leave him
in power, up high on a pedestal as a reminder of what they mistook as a bastion of good sense and astute thinking. Let them squat in their own filth. They (ok, I'm taking a bit of a leap here amalgamating royalists and gammons, but there seems to be quite the overlap) are the reason we are where we are so let them fester looking at what they did. Not so moist now are you!

Probably involved an army of tailors and personal groomers.

Glad to see Andy's staff found alternative employment.

Harry blanked him as well in a meet and greet handshake.

I like him. I mean, I really hope the whole nazi uniform stuff was a phase, history seems to have vindicated him somewhat. But still, he had nothing to lose, why not dingy your own PM?

PMs come and go, the Royal Family seem to be staying around. Harry will see a whole load of PMs in his lifetime.

All those saying they want borris to remain because he is destroying the torry party, just remember he is also destroying the country. The absolute mess he is making of leadership is tearing apart the nations future, it's economy, it's institutions and it's ability to work with international partners. The longer he remains in power, the worse it gets.

Even if we get a progressive government, they will have to spend decades putting out the fires he has lit, wasting time that should be dedicated to making lives better from a stronger starting point. The longer this useless narcissist is in power, and the government of mindless muppets waste their time enabling his tantrums rather than governing the country, then the less likely we will ever see a fairer more progressive country.

My worry is the unseen destruction, all the unforeseen consequences of stupid actions.
Look we can sell sausages in Belfast. At least with half the city on fire we have somewhere to cook them.
I'm not sure this year's marching season will be quiet.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jun/03/bishop-of-buckingham-joins-calls-for-boris-johnson-to-resign

Not even the end of Jubilee Weekend and the calls are growing ever stronger.
I think MPs now, following the booing yesterday, will see where the populist opinion lies and, like the spineless bunch of morons they are, will go for the popular vote.

It will now play well to the public to be calling on him to resign.

The absolute mess he is making of leadership is tearing apart the nations future, it’s economy, it’s institutions and it’s ability to work with international partners. The longer he remains in power, the worse it gets.

That's true as well but I think most of the damage has already been done. It'll take a generation and a substantial overhaul of UK politics now to fix the mess.

As soon as he goes all his current allies will be queueing up to distance themselves to save their own skin. Rats ratting.

The booing was fantastic, properly loud and had real feeling behind it.

Monday will be key. If there's a flurry of letters then we're in for a bumpy ride, if not then he'll survive until the next crisis. My fear is that if a VONC does happen he'll be able to survive it by the skin of his teeth then be untouchable for 12 months. He can do an awful lot of damage in that time.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jun/05/whats-next-for-boris-johnson-there-are-three-possible-scenarios

What do we all reckon?
Two stinging jibes on the global stage last night, a chorus of boos and jeers at St Paul's. Do you reckon he even understands how the glitter has come off to expose the turd beneath?

He’ll just keep rolling… in whatever comes to hand, glitter or otherwise. Delaying his exit is all he’s interested in, and it has to be said, he’s damn good at it. You’d be brave to bet against him managing it for years more yet. Hoping otherwise of course. But being realistic.

Well the Daily Mail is clearly worried enough to publish this rallying cry as an editorial. It’s got the whole hit… liberal elite, woke warriors, fanatical greens, Scottish separatists. All the Home Counties bogeymen.

Tweeted by our minister for disinformation

They are giving credit to the Royal Family, rather than the British people and key elected politicians, for not being taken in by fascism in the 20th Century…?! That really is rewriting history.

Re the Scottish seperatists, if the Little Englanders hadn't foisted the clown on us probably there would be less of an appetite for Scottish independence. Bozo in charge is the main reason I would vote independence as would a good few people I know. But I suppose 78 year old Joyce from Tring will believe all the shite she reads in that rag

That really is rewriting history.

It is pretty special even by their standards but then I guess writing the truth about Edward VIII and co would also bring the 1st Lord Rothermere into the discussion.

My favourite line from that piece was "Enemies of Tory Britain".

They obviously see a one party State as a solution to the mess they have helped put us in.

The whole thing is priceless

THIS is a unique moment of serious national reflection.

+300 words of blustering bullshit. You can sense the desperation, and the pure fear that an electoral pact could keep the Tories out for the foreseeable.

A barrister has offered pro bono to work for any members of the public who've been given fines by plod for boo-ing the PM and his strumpet the other day when arriving for the service. Be very afraid of the direction of travel for the UK.
