Anyone know of any software that will stream webcam footage to a hard drive in chunks of say 30 minutes?
We are trying to capture a random event on some prototype equipment but it may not happen for two or three days. I am not even sure if we would be able to capture for that long let alone open the file back up for analysis!
If the footage is automatically saved in smaller chunks it will make the post processing much easier.

Is the equipment still until the event? If so, maybe an action / sound activated camera...

I have a machine vision system but no spare time to write the code to do what I want (hence the less elegant solution). Was hoping I could just set a camera streaming and then view the file after failure.
Webcams sometimes come with monitoring s/w for use as cctv, give that avenue a search.
