I am looking after the Godson while he has an inset day. I plugged him into the play station earlier but he is getting bored. Any ideas of cheap/free things to do on a drizzly Monday in/near Southampton?

I took my kids (9 and 7) a bloody big hill in the wind and rain yesterday, didn't cost anything and they enjoyed it, does your godson have use of his legs?

Do not try to brush his hair!
The BBC has two stories about campaigns to stop child grooming, I'm spreading the word on STW.

Take him to playzone in portsmouth, then sneak off and see if you can get a cheeky look in the wiggle warehouse next door.

Give him a soldering iron, some 'kit' and see what he can come up with...surely it can't be any more dangerous than some of the stuff you try...got to be worth a punt! 😉

Go for a bike ride round the outside of Marwell Zoo. If you are lucky you might see a wallaby for free.

Or alternatively, give him a piece of wood with a rusty nail in and a handful of mud, and explain to him at length that that was all you had 'in your day', and you had to 'make your own entertainment'. That always goes down well.
