I'm looking for some bluetooth bookshelf speakers. Budget is £100 and I'd like them to sound decent and they need to be able to connect to 2 devices simultaneously.
I've just received my second set of Edifier R1010BTs which sound good to my ears but I can not get them to connect to 2 devices at the same time. The first set where the same and went back after Edifier confirmed that they probably faulty.
So suggestions please.
I rather like my Anker Soundcore Motion, great sound, good bass, I tried quite a few. and it's only beaten by an an Apple Gen1 Homepod I have
Thanks but I'm not looking for anything portable, I'm after something that's plugged in and can be left so all the time. I will agree that Anker stuff is good though.
I don't have an answer only more questions, why do you need to connect to2 devices at once, presumably you don't play music from 2 sources at once?
I have Ruark's at home, but I use a wiim rather than bluetooth and they don't fit your budget I'm afraid so I'm no help.

I don't know anything bluetooth connects to two devices at the same time. You generally have to disconnect one device before connecting the other.
Following this, used to have wharfedale diamond 12.1's in my old home office, after moving my hifi system is elsewhere and my office is smaller so looking out for some new ones too

It's definitely a thing. I've got headphones that connect to my tablet and phone at the same time and a headset for teams that connects to my work laptop and phone at the same time. Which then means my phone is connected to both my headset and headphones at the same time. If my phone rings I can choose which device to hear/speak through.
The headphones won't play simultaneously, as in two different songs from two devices, but if I'm watching a video on my tablet I can press pause and then start playing music off my phone and the headphones will switch from the video audio to music audio.
Have you got any old good speakers around? Have you considered a small BT Amp instead?
I want to connect 2 devices so I can hide my laptop out the way and not have to rely on it for teams calls, disconnecting from my phone playing music and reconnecting to the laptop takes to long when a call comes in (I don't like using headsets). In the same way bails is using is headset.
The manual specifically states that it can be done and I've seen two youtube reviews where the reviewer has 2 devices connected, stops one, plays the other instantly. From the manual:
And no, I don't have any old speakers kicking around.

I have cheap earbuds that do everything the OP asks for.
Listen to music on my phone, see teams pop up, answer it and start talking to whoever rang.
Don't push pause or anything just works.

But isn't that just your earbuds connected to your phone and your phone swaps the audio feed to your earbuds with the call taking preference over the music?
I have the Ruarks (bought some cosmetic seconds from their outlet) and i run music through a direct PC feed, and swap them to bluetooth when i want to take a teams call. Teams default setting is bluetooth speaker, tidal is direct feed, PC quite happily works with that set up

Understood, I am not a fan of headphones/headsets all the time either. If it simplifies things (maybe/maybe not), I use a Jabra 510 puck for calls and standalone speakers for music. It does mean you have to pause/stop music before you can make the call of course, but you get a better quality call mic and better sound speakers as separates. I assume in your description the mic is still on the tucked away laptop so the other side of the call may not benefit from this situation.
