Now 'they' always go for me and always get infected. I've had two seriously infected horse fly bites as well that required months of medication.

Now wierdly there was a bite on my leg that didn't itch or draw my attention until it'd well developed by chance. (its on my ankle/just above the sock-line).

Since then I've been knocked sideways/feeling low. Its been two weeks since I've noticed it and Its feels slighly hollow to the touch.

If I went to the Doctors -is there any test that they can run (Blood etc).

Yes I am thinking 'just incase' for future Lymes that isn't detected and stays there until its too late.

Got to be amputated by the end of the week if you want to live.

Speak to NHS Direct so you don't have to waste time going to Docs.

They might tell you to go straight to a Drop in centre to assess you but a GP can do this too.

Go the doctors. They can do blood tests for Lymes etc. More likely though that you will just get given a coarse of anti-biotics. I had a tick feed on me a month ago just over. Didn't know it was there until I'd rubbed my leg so tick wasn't properly removed.

After 4 days it was swollen, hot and the swollen area was about 3cm diameter circle round the bite site. Dr gave me a 7 day course of anti biotics. Seemed to be fine until 4/5 days after finished tablets. Then came up REALLY big, hot and sore. general swelling was a good 10cm across and red with a white halo round the bite. Went to walk in centre and the Dr there gave me a 14 day course of a much stronger anti-biotic designed for Lyme/Weils type infections. 4 days and swelling and redness had gone and now 2 days after last dose the bite is virtually invisible. Maybe ask a pharmacist first if you want to be sure you are not wasting the GPs time.

Please don't ring NHS re-direct. They are worse than useless......

Go and see your GP

Had the same thing myself a few times. The worst one stopped me from walking for 3 days.

Go to the doctor ASAP & get it seen to.

The doc might suggest a blood test for diabetes as cellulitis is common in diabetics.
