Does anybody collect keyrings?

I did as a kid and have a box of a couple of hundred to shift. Mainly touristy cheap stuff from early trips to Spain etc.

I have no idea of where to try and sell them.

Draw a sheep's face (badly) on each one, they will sell like hot cakes on here.

i used to collect them as a kids. From everywhere we went, and we went to loads of places. So picked up plenty on the long haul flights, we had to stop lot more back then.

I've slowly slowly been using (and losing) them since.

attach them all to a waist coat, you'll be the life and soul of every party you attend.

Bloody hell - agree a donation to a worthy cause and give them to him, what use are they to you?

(Unless, of course, you want to try to sell them on Ebay although they don't exactly seem to sell well http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=collectable+keyring&_sacat=See-All-Categories )

MF - I assume you'll be giving away all your possessions in future? 😉

Their "use to me" is that they might fund something that I actually need, hence my request for somewhere to sell them. I think its quite common for parents to buy things for their kids...

Awfully so, one would never dream of such a thing.

Not at all, I just think (IMO of course) that their value to you is far less than the value to some kid being given them to kickstart a new collection.

And I simply don't think you COULD sell them for anything like a meaningful amount of money - hence think of it as a good deed.

(How many of US were given something as a kid in similar circumstances? I know I was given a stamp collection by a friend of my dad's).

Also I think it a bit odd to 'buy' a collection - surely that defeats the object of it? Like buying a completed Panini sticker album 😉

Unless they are unusual, or collectable they won't be worth anything..

Mainly touristy cheap stuff from early trips to Spain

Doesn't really make them sound valuable does it? Unless a faded picture of Benidorm in a cheap scratched plastic fob is worth more than it sounds

I agree, having a keyring from Mallorca (or wherever) is no fun if you weren't there yourself to buy it, or at least got it as a present from someone you know who went there.

Shhh, don't tell cb - I am lining him up to sell them to me cheap then I'm gonna sell them all for a small fortune on collector sites (unfortunately I have been well beaten to the 'KeyBay' joke).

🙂

Yeah, I be so rich I'd have to go into hiding and live as a hobo.

*BTW not for sale.

At least if you lived as a hobo, you wouldn't have any keys so would have no use for the keyrings you no longer owned.

Don't spoil my fun...put a value on them. I wanted a good laugh this afternoon and it's not looking likely to happen now.

PMSL - some nice light relief after the A&A threads.

I have a damaged plastic tyre lever.

Could swap or even make it into a keyring............... 😆
