I read your piece in the old-ish issue of ST minutes ago. What a piece, it's actually given me what I needed - support and help. Don't want to go into details but my position isn't too dissimilar to yours and I struggle similarly. Thanks a million, really.

Nothing to do with me, but it's lovely to hear something nice on here!

Good for both of you.

I was a member of the Hit the North team that Binners was in. All 3 of us in the team had a had quite a bad year. We all said what a fantastic thing, so small as winning a catagory in a mtb event can just be that little break that's needed to 'change' you, or your way of thinking, a turning point.

I too would like to thank Binners. The article made me cry, but in a good way.

Sorry folks. I hadn't seen this post til now. Hairychested - I'm glad it helped in some way. Its a novelty not to have people immediately take offense at my inane ramblings in print 🙂

Things will buck up fella. Believe me.

And Bunnyhop is right. Hit the North was like Therapy for all three of us. The best type. The type you enjoy and you share with people who really really matter

If you're that desperate fella, (and you'd have to be desperate if you want to read the crap I churn out) mail me on binandbopAThotmailDOTcom and I'll send you a copy of the piece

Or you could always buy the mag. Its in the present edition 😀

It has helped me ditch the pills and focus on riding as a means of dealing with life's sh*t.

It's a shame I didn't deal with life's sh*t rather better at the beack end of last year, or I wouldn't be where I am now.

After an hour on the bike in the sun this morning, it helps me shrug my shoulders and say c'est la vie, c'est la guerre.

binners, emailed you back.
I'm rebuilding my bike, taking a mate for a spin this weekend. Or maybe even ride with my sprog to the creche tomorrow? All thanks to somebody able to put a few thoughts together.

Blimey! Thanks for the comments everyone. Its really nice to know its had a positive effect.

Hairychested - I've just mailed you

And if anyone's interested in sharing what must be the ultimate soul-enhancing cycling experience - then the South Manchester Massive/Twisted Wheel Kebab Night-ride is taking place next Wednesday evening. Bikes, mud, beer, and great company, finishing off with mountains of char-grilled tandoori meat. I challenge anyone to feel remotely down after that lot 😀
