We will be in touch
Have just moved house and couldn't take our current package with us, so need to pick someone new.
Don't currently have a BT line and don't want to pay the £124.99 connection charge if possible. Used to have Sky+ and found them to have the WORST customer services ever, so would like to avoid them. Also would like to have unlimited/very high downloads.
Any suggestions? Help would be much appreciated 🙂
Stay away from BT. Utter utter *s.

Anyone had one of those Freesat boxes?

interesting nothing but praise for them here.
you'll be hard pushed to beat Sky.
we have the phone and broadband.
no problems at all.

You'll be hard pushed to find a more expensive package!
Talk Talk can do free phone, line rental and 14MB Broadband for £18 a month
with the money saved we can get a Freesat HD PVR for £200 and have a better service than sky can offer for a lot less cash.
FWIW
I think that Sky probably have the best TV setup
Virgin Media for the broadband - TVs not too bad
All about the same for the phone
If you can get cable - check it out

That's strange...tbh it seems that customer service levels differ depending on which customer you are talking to - for all of the providers!
Some friends have recommended BT, others absolutely hate it, same for Sky and Virgin!
Hmm...maybe we'll just pick the cheapest Soma_Rich?
Just got talk talk 🙂
Just got talk talk
Aha. We'll be having Talk Talk then!! 🙂
I have just moved to Sky for calls + Broadband.
Unlimited evenings and weekend calls, normal daytime rates all for free because I have taken out an unlimited broadband package at £10 a month (discounted from £15 for taking the package). It is also free for the first six months.
So, even when the free period is over I get free calls (at the times we will be using the phone), unlimited broadband at twice the speed I had with BT, line rental and a tv package (all channels except films and sport) for £42 a month.
Freesat HD PVR for £200 and have a better service than sky can offer for a lot less cash.
each to their own 😉
i see your point with freesat, my mother had a freeVIEW PVR and the quality was crap as it kept freezing, the picture would freeze but sound would carry on.
im still not convinced of the quality of recordings and the menus on the PVR boxes though, even the high end ones dont guarantee you better quality.
you can't knock the sky+ box itself.
by the way we pay £18 a month
do alot of research before you get a PVR
Anyone got experience of the Humax Freesat PVR vs Sky+ ?
Also, what do we reckon to the Panasonic box with Blueray and Blueray recording as well?
BTW, I don't think Freeview freezing has any relevance at all to Freesat.
My home setup is 10mb broadband from Virgin, VOIP phone registered with Sipgate and Windows Media Centre + Digital TV tuner card.
Monthly payments £20, can't see much beating that?!
Another happy Sky user. their customer services have always been spot on for me.
