Anyone fancy suggesting a good headtorch for running? I've got an old 1watt headtorch but the battery doesn't last very long at all (less than an hour) - it dates from when 1w LEDs were new, so I assume the efficiency of newer ones at much better.

Ideally something other than the alpkit gamma, as that's top of my list. I want to know what else is out there, something that's ideally not a AAA based light. Anyone brought any of the deal extreme ones?

Mate of mine impressed all comers at a recent double marathon when he used his ayups with the headband mount.

I was thinking of getting a headband mounts for my ayups - reckon it would be top for running. The Petzls are good. I think Silva used to do some running specific ones as well.

Maplin do a nifty headtorch with three normal ultrabright led's and a 1w Luxeon for £15, which would probably work nicely.

Outcome of the last thread was the Alpkit Gammo which I've subsequently ordered. At £12.50 and claims that it's better than Petzl's offerings I'm looking forward to getting it!
