as above whats the best FREE twitter APP for iphone, having some problems with twitterific, so fancied trying another one.

"Twitter for iphone" is free I think, as it is now the "official" one (used to be Tweetie)
having said that, i prefered it when it used to Tweetie. I am using Osfoora, which is not free, but was no more than a cup of frothy coffee

I was going to say Twitterrific - It did stop working a few weeks ago (something to do with Twitter withdrawing / changing the authentication protocol I think ?)...anyhow instead of releasing an update they released new app (still a free version) called 'Twitterrific for Twitter' - try this as it's still good.
