WinRAR only comes with a 40 day license, anything good that's properly free?

You can just close the winRAR prompt box when it tells you you have to buy it online.
Still keeps working fine, for me at least.

The only problem with that (other than breaking their licensing terms) is that it pops up a couple of seconds after you've opened the app, so you invariably forget and start using it and then it interrupts you. It's a bit #firstworldproblem but I find it irritating.

If you need to open .rar files then 7-Zip or IZArc are free (I prefer IZArc)

If you need to create them then as far as I know only WinRAR works properly.

If you're doing this professionally then you should buy a licence instead of clicking through the registration screen (but you knew that, yes?), partly cos it's the right thing to do, and partly because it's bloody annoying - especially if you set your mouse pointer to snap to the default button.

winrar's the fastest. Esp. when it comes to multiple threading.
