Sorry if this has been done before but what have been peoples best music to ride to from last year?

Mine would be:

Two dancers - Wild beasts
The Boxer - Kele
From the cradle to the Rave - Shit Robot
The drums - The drums
Further - The Chemical Brothers
The Suburbs - Arcade fire
Swim - Caribou.

Enough for now!

Northern soul and rap unbelevable combination

Agree with lots on here, but would add The Fall - Your Future, Our Clutter. A return to form.

GJP I`ll try and check it out. Reminds me a bit of Fiest - also truly beautiful vocals.

Defeats the purpose of this thread, as a lot of these were not released these year, but I've only come across them in 2010. They are all good though!

The Antlers - Hospice
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
The Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters
Radical Face - Ghost
Frightened Rabbit - Fast Blood

The Ladykiller - Cee Lo Green

That man has an amazing voice, and I can't remember the last time I heard an album with so little filler. Every track is a belter.

Vampire Weekend - Contra
LCD Soundsystem - can't remember title

Those two are my faves, and both have grown on me after being a bit underwhelming initially.

Arcade Fire still unwrapped downstairs, looking forward to hearing it but have to let wife open it really as it was her Xmas gift.

Couple more mentioned above I need to check out as well.

If you lived with the music that Kate Walsh has covered on Peppermint Radio then just buy it - you will not be disapointed.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was the best album I heard last year. Incredible, and very different.

Liked Giggs' album, and Apollo Kids by Ghostface Killah was very good as well.

albums I have enjoyed this year

The National - High Violet
Sufjan Stevens _ The Age of Adj
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (I've never really listened to him beyond stuff that gets on the radio - but I got this the other week after it kept cropping up in the best of poles, and it really is very good)
Steve Mason - Boys Outside
The Suburbs
Beach House - Teen Dream
Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan - Hawk
Laura Marking - I speak Because I can
She and Him - Volume 2

was listening to this at the back end of last year - Zane Lowe's list was a really good choice

Kanye West - 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy', Bombay Bicycle - 'Flaws', The National - 'High Violet', Deftones - 'Diamond Eyes', with extra special tribute to Arcade Fire 'The Suburbs'.

best music to ride to

Wonder how many people missed that? I f they didn't, some of the above obviously ride in a rather fey way 🙂

For me that has to be The Glitch Mob - Drink the Sea. Whether it was actually the best album of the year, I can't decide.
