Pooks coming to Manchester next Thursday and staying for a few beers. Anyone up for a beer then?

Venue/meet? No idea, what about one of the Chop Houses or similar place that sells decent range of ales (and is a bit bigger) but close enough to the two main train stations.

nbt, you should know I can't organise a piss up let alone a complex operation that involves food ontop!

post-work drinkies sesh
That'd be the best idea so people can have one, disapear or stay etc. Problem with Odd- its small and their beers etc arent great (in terms of ale selection).

What about the place round the corner from there (onto the cobbles- turn right and its now double-fronted/extended into the next shopfront) Across the road from a skaters shop.

If it had to be the Northern Quarter plus you can see/keep an eye on any bikes outside.

True about Sams, I like that place 🙂

We could do a wee-pub crawl. There are few within 500m's of Sam's that are good/ale's including one that serves Deuchars ontap 😀

Deuchars IPA isn't a bad drop. there are better but good bitter vendors are hard to come by these days in cities!

Be warned that Hora is trying to get as many people along as possible, so that when he does his 'oh I've accidentally left my wallet at home' trick, some poor mug will fell sorry for him and buy him a pint. Binners told me this.Apparently he does it all the time.

Hora; £60 or your TAG watch. By tomorrow. Or you're in trouble...

Do they serve elaborate cocktails in Sams chophouse. I'm not going unless I can drink expresso Martini's. Paid for by Hora as I intend to forget my wallet for a change

If Hora forgets his wallet, as usual, I say we tie him to the town hall fountain, naked, then whip him with bike chains

Actually.... He'll probably love that.

I'd actually pay to enjoy that (if I had money in my wallet!).

Start straight after work I reckon, so it allows people to come for a quickie and go or stay abit longer 🙂

So 5.30 onwards. I'll post a number up on here on the day so anyone who is coming later can check where everyone currently is bar-wise.

'Will Hora be bringing his wallet', I think is the question on everyone's lips...

If someone (Binners?) could give Hora a good kicking for me, and retrieve my £60 or goods to the value from him, I'd be very grateful, and it will be noted that you've done me a favour.

Hora; it's gone up to £80 actually. £20 a week extra until it's paid.

Go on then, why does Hora owe the Elf £80.00?

And anyway, if we're going to tax Hora every time he posts something stupid, the lad's family will starve.

Right. Have a good time tonight youse lot. And please; feel free to give Hora a good kicking, I know Binners will be well up for that.

Actually, if someone could get some pics of Binners giving Hora a Chinese Burn, and getting him in a headlock then rubbing his knuckles hard on the top of Hora's bonce, I'd be very grateful.

Basically, enjoy yourselves, and if that means torturing Hora, then all the better really. It'd be rude not to in fact.

(Looks forward to seeing pics of Hora being abused)

Fred. I've left them to it as its deadline day tomorrow and i have to behave myself to a certain degree

However, I have good, ne... possibly miraculous news to report:

I GOT A PINT OUT OF HORA!!!

The routine is as follows:

1) turn up later than he does (not difficult, he's one of life's bed-wetters)
2) Note his bike locked up outside the pub
3) Pull out huge D lock and lock his bike to an immovable object
4) Walk into pub and ask him politely to get you a pint to compensate for the 487 he presently owes me
5) Listen to usual feeble, half-baked, bleating excuses
6) Draw attention to point 3
7) Drink an incredibly satisfying pint, paid for by the enigma himself. No chinese burns necessary

🙂

(Faints in shock)

No chinese burns necessary

But they're always necessary. It's Hora! 🙁

(Is disappointed at lack of evidence of shocking abuse of Hora)

I would've bitch-slapped him and took his bike off him. You're getting soft in your old age, Binners.

Good tactic though. Take note, any potential future drinking buddies of Hora's...

LOL @ binners! 🙂

Did you unlock his bike afterwards or did you just tell him that you'd unlock it on your way out then 'accidently forgot'?

Unfortunately Binners left us to our own, we went to a restaurant by the name of Macdonalds, Hora made his excuses to leave ( apparently having a child is a good excuse these days), pook attempted to change his mind by stealing his single speed road thingy (this failed miserably). This left me, pook and nbt. We went back to the city inn for a very nice pint of Wainwright and a game of round the clock on the dartboard.

nice to meet you guys and hopefully I will have my bike fixed for next weds' pootle dans la peak.

I'll be out for longer sooner. Drinking the day after a stressful housemove was an achievement in itself.

Good to meet you guys and to experience Pook's steely-charm at moving a bunch of city-types away from a table then taking a chair off them 😆
