Following on from the 'Shall I shave my beard' thread, and the comments below it, I thought we could have a permanent (or not, depends on the weather...) fixture showcasing the finest beards this parish has to offer.

I do not have an impressive beard but I have had it for the past 44 years. So I claim it must be one of the longest here, though quite definitely non-hipster.
I shaved my beard but unfortunately the family response was 'my God, is that what you really look like? Please grow it back'.

I cut mine off for the first time in about eighteen years and immediately regretted it. Now on its way back, but I wouldn’t class it as a beard yet as you can still see my neck.

Less of a beard, more an unkempt growth of facial hair. Not been any different for the past 30 years. I usually give it a trim once a month, or whenever I am going somewhere other than cycling or to market.

My beard is like nobeerinthefridge’s. Trimmed it today, feeling better about it than yesterday. I feel I’m better looking/it disguises the ugliness with it.
lol @ Walleater. Having never even heard of "the Murphy" until I just googled it then the answer is that it is a serious pic 🙂 I called in at a friend on the way home from cycling at Afan hence the fact I am wearing contacts and covered in mud. She was in the process of setting up a small home studio and asked to take the photo to try out some lighting. I would say it is a very atypical shot of me, but I like it.
I feel I’m better looking/it disguises the ugliness with it.
In my case, gives less of a 43 year old bald baby/potato look.

I'm just bitter coz I can't grow a beard beyond a few measly pubes on my chin (yet my eyebrows and nostril hair grow with wild abandon)
Mine is usually about this length but I have trimmed it right down now, was getting too unpleasant in the heat for me.
I can grow a good goatey but wish I could grow magnificent mutton chop sideburns to go with my love of Fred Perry styling. At 48 I may have to give up hope. Sigh.
