You muppets 😆

Didn't anyone tell the relocation planners or common sense tell you anything about Salford?

Or did hooky' Estate Agents sell you the land?

Thing is, you are moving from London, itself not a wilting Violet and lets face it White City isn't exactly the most attractive area is it.

So MTFU. If you don't like Manchester why not get a job somewhere in London instead of bitching about petty crime as though its a new invention?

When Salford is translated into Chinese, it comes out as something like "the shallow river crossing by the forest clearing".

So when Hong Kong was returned to China, lots of the residence of HK that managed to get UK passports thought "oh that sounds lovely, lets move there".

Boy were they disappointed!

slightly the wrong end of the stick Mark..

The independent got hold of am E-mail from bosses talking about the "security" on the site.

I've never seen the e-mail (that went to all staff apparently) so I wonder just how made up it was..

Likewise we now have everyone up here in our dept now, and not one of them isn't glad to be up here, I haven't met anyone who doesn't want to be here.

I think a better title for you're thread would be "independent, stop making stupid stuff up"

I never felt I was in some crime-free paradise when waiting for the tube at White City. There are some pretty rough estates behind Television Centre.

Used to be secure car parking for the big cheeses though. Don't know if that's changed in eco-friendly Media City.

Spectacularly ugly building, though.

Same council also have cameras to enforce "don't drive in the right lane" and parking enforcement.

Forgive me if I don't welcome Big Brother with open arms.

Have to say it's a pretty nice place to be now. Good to finally see some life about it after nothing, then a construction site, then a ghost town.

It's not Salford really though is it? It's a Beebanaudicinno middle class bubble. Ordsal and Salford might as well be on the moon.

Probably not the people that live there though; unless it really is made of cheese. If it is made of cheese I'd be keen myself.

Did those who moved stay on the same pay? If so I bet they are happy given the lower cost of living. My Wife is on a London Wage but living in Newcastle. We have a four bed house for the price friends payed for 2 bed flats.

Also it's hardly like london is all sunshine and lollipops?

The job creation has been good for the area though. A whole 24 apparently. I've not looked, but I'd say the DG's position is probably not one of them.

I bet Cash Convertors at the precinct has been busy though

Considering there are about 831 security guards cutting about on Sedgeways (hilarious) at all hours, that can't be right. Not to mention Booths, Wagamama, that sh1t Pizza place, Holiday Inn, WH Smith, etc, etc.

There's a couple of guys been sitting in a van from Metrolink for a year ever since the front of a tram went to Eccles and the rear Manchester at the new points. 😆
