Hi
What free software do people recommend for designing layouts of rooms? Im currently thinking of how to lay my bathroom out. Ive used some squared paper and now would like a 3d illustration to show a plumber.
Thanks

Sketchup ?. And I believe they have different layouts for rooms ,so i reckon there's one in there for bathrooms.

Quick google says yes they do, and there's even a YT vid on it. Handy 🙂

Just remember bathrooms are dictated by the waste pipe...you can put a bath, toilet and basin where you like...but if you can't get the waste away...your fuct
Yes I fit bathrooms

Very true! We had one plumber come in and say we could have what we wanted and he’d need to raise the floor to get it. Needs to be enough of a downslope from the bath/shower to allow it to work.

I also at one point looked for a design app and in the end just decided to draw it to scale myself, drawings are crucial as fitters aren’t mindreaders and as we found out rather than asking sometimes will just do what they know will work, which usually isn’t what you want. Anyway lessons learned, always make sure everything is well known and understood!

Floorplanner is good. All online so you can get to it from wherever and there's an app for viewing plans.
Can create a shell or import plans. Also has 3d view.

Does it really need to be 3d for the plumber? Everything is literally on the floor - toilet, bath, shower etc.
