This is the second month in a row that Santander have stung me for 'Interest and Charges'

The annoying thing is that I absolutely NEVER go overdrawn or use a service that would warrant this particular fee.

First time it happened I did the roundtrip to my local branch and they couldn't explain it.

It happened again this month for the exact same illogical nominal amount.

I feel obliged to issue them with a letter to revoke the fees [£38 will be my standard fee] plus a suitable hourly rate for the 2 plus hours it'll take to get there and back.

****ers - give them a taste of their own medicine methinks.

Sensible replies would be much appreciated regarding letter wordage and where one might stand in this situation.

cheers.

Ring 'em up, they tend to refund fairly readily when challenged.

(in my experience, etc etc disclaimer disclaimer)

good luck.

ive got two credit cards that have been in credit for more than two years, no sign of either paying my back the money they overcharged in the first place (total of about £1.50)

Sensible reply, not a chance.

Ring them.

Did you know (as I found out to my cost last month) that they now require about 7 working days to clear a cheque that you pay in?

So although you're not overdrawn as far as the statement or "available balance" on the internet banking screen are concerned, you will go overdrawn according to their internal systems if you let your balance go below the value of uncleared cheques.

You will be laughed at. Don't undermine your credibility. They can charge you because you've signed up to the terms and conditions, there's no 2-way traffic there.

Speak to them and get them to explain it, either there's a reason or you'll get your refund. If they can't, make a proper complaint.
