Right.

This year I want to try hair free legs so I look super sexy and aero in my Lycra. ( real reason is that I live somewhere hot and hopefully this will be more comfortable )
I know there are some awesome comments on the Veet Amazon thread ( I'm sure some one will link it soon ) but what's the best way to go hair free?
Shave, wax, Veet, laser ? What's simple and easy to do without any possible side effects 🙂

How much time do you have? Are you bothered about nicks? Vest works very well for everything, just don't leave it on longer than 5 minutes and take multiple scrapes with the spatula thing.

How high do you go? It would seem weird to leave a blunt line somewhere between the clean-shaven area and body hair. Unless you remove all body hair!

There's a natural point at the top of my legs where hair ends - and also an obvious transition from leg hair to pubes. I guess if you have a hairy back this may be more difficult (but in that case do you want to keep the hair on your back?) Not that I've shaved my legs for a long, long time, but the transition wasn't hard when I did - and given I was doing triathlons in trunks there wasn't the option of stopping at the shorts line.

Just shave them... It's the proven method, hence its popularity. No expensive chemicals, just use a pair of clippers for the first cut of the season and then do it in the shower.

Takes 2 minutes, couple of times a week.

And the best thing is that you can whizz the hobbit-esque fuzz off the tops of your toes, so your feet look better too!

And for the doubters, after skinning myself in a 25 yard slider a couple of years ago, I can attest that hair-free legs heal FAR quicker... Even the nurse said "Ooh, I love that you cyclists shave - far easier to clean up".

Shaving is a ball ache (literally if you've gone too high!!) with ingrown hairs and irritation from stubble. And you go through razors like there's no tomorrow!.
Unless you have really fine leg fur, creams are next to useless unless you leave them on for far longer than recommended and risk 3rd degree chemical burns.
Wax..............NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 😯
IMHO (after 5-6 years) epilators are about the best of a bad lot.You do have to shave once at the start though. And initially it hurts like a m@?*&$£f@><£$.But over time it does get better (if not totally painless).Apart from behind the knees which is always murder.
It lasts much longer than shaving/cream and you don't tend to suffer from ingrown hairs or stubble burn either.

Just shave, the wife tried to tempt me with the epilator once but it's too damn painful. women must have broken pain receptors or something.

First leg shave for me after winter and I use cordless hair clippers to remove the bulk of the hair then wet shave with a gilette fusion razor. Need to have a quick leg shave every few weeks. I usually shave to mid thigh as don't have that much hair further up my thighs anyway so it blends in.

I haven't shaved properly for 20-odd years (I don't think the wife has seen me properly hairless) but if i don't I look like chewbacca around the calves in particular.

Instead I run grade 1 clippers from about mid thigh down they say 3mm but with pushing it's shorter than that, takes no time and avoids cuts and being accused of being a complete roadie.

I use a number 1 from thigh down.. Thins it out enough to not have leg hair flapping around or poking through lycra

You either build a tolerance to Epilating or the follicles just get weaker (or your body just goes numb).
More difficult is explaining away the electric buzzing sound and wailing screams when you first start.

Just shave one first to see how you get on? Whilst drunk.

Wake up next morning slightly hungover and terrified to roll over as you don't recognise the leg that's rubbing against yours..... 😯

When i raced (competitively, not mucking about wi mates) 20 years ago i used to get them waxed every 6-8 weeks, felt very odd the first time but as i had 25" quads i could get away with it and there was no end of girls who asked if they could rub them (i worked in a bar and drunk girls were utterly shameless with their comments), needless to say now i am the wrong side of 40 i no longer wax them but then again my quads are a puny 21" so would look rather silly.

DO NOT FORGET TO TRIM BEFORE YOU USE AN EPILATOR.

I thought that around the nether regions at least the best thing to do is to let it grow wild. The hair helps prevent things from chaffing especially when it gets a bit stubbly down below. I'm sure there was an article in one of the newspapers about how the female Sky track cycling team were now not shaving or trimming down below for that very reason.

I think that's more to prevent any more pregnancies scuppering their medal prospects... Far less chance if they look like last year's hanging baskets.

shaved for a while a couple years ago but too much irritation from jeans/long pants and it's a faff, now I just clipper, similar to theotherjonv, but graded, close as possible upto the knee then get longer up the thigh.

Cleaner legs, leg grippers actually grip, less daft looking than hair hotpants and less chaffage all round.
